The Smartlipo Laser Liposuction Procedure
The art of body sculpting was revolutionized in February, 2007 with the approval of the Smartlipo laser by the FDA. Smartlipo laser liposculpture is a minimally invasive office procedure which permanently removes unwanted fat resistant to diet and exercise, smoothes cellulite, and tightens skin laxity. The Smartlipo procedure is performed under local anesthesia, requires only a short recovery time, and gives a contoured and lasting result. A one-to-two-day post procedural recuperation time before the patient returns to work is recommended, and normal activities are gradually resumed. Since fat cells never regenerate in adults, the physique is permanently changed by Smartlipo laser liposculpture. Even if a patient gains weight after Smartlipo, it will not be deposited in those previous stubborn areas but will be more evenly distributed throughout the rest of the body.
